Method 1: Analyze → Transpose
Select all the data in your table (or just the rows/columns you want to transpose).
Go to the Analyze button on the toolbar.
Choose Transpose from the list of analyses under the Data Manipulation category.
Prism creates a new results sheet with rows and columns swapped.
You can then copy this transposed data into a fresh table if needed.
Tip: This method works best for formatted tables (XY, Column, Grouped) and preserves your original data sheet.
Method 2: Paste Special → Transpose
Copy your data from Prism (or from Excel).
In Prism, click on the destination cell in a data table.
Use Edit → Paste Special → Paste Transpose.
The data is pasted with rows and columns swapped.
Tip: This is the quickest way to transpose data that you have already copied to the clipboard. Also works when pasting from Excel into Prism.
Method 3: Import Dialog Transpose Option
When importing data from a file (File → Import), click Options in the import dialog.
Check the Transpose option before completing the import.
Prism will swap rows and columns as it reads the file.
Tip: Useful when the source file is structured in the wrong orientation and you want to fix it at import time rather than after.
Note on Table Types
Transposing changes the structure of your data, which means the resulting table may need to be the correct type (XY, Column, Grouped, Contingency) for the analysis you want to run. Check that the transposed table is the right format before running statistics.
